The Chronicles Of The Children's Clinic, Part 1
My perspective on a business filled with humanity and desire to help. Help those who sometimes can’t even say what hurts them.
I inherited the children's clinic. I wasn't supposed to run it, at least not directly. But it turned out that I had to. Here is the background of the story:
When we started treating children and established the children's dental clinic within Dental Clinic Petar Duchev, Cvetelina Ducheva and I were family. We were moving in the same direction, we had common goals. Or so I thought. It turned out I was wrong. Our family fell apart, but for a long time I thought and believed that the project "The Best Children's Clinic, Ever" was possible. With Cvetelina leading it and us not being a family. Just business partners.
Well, it wasn't meant to be! She left, and I was left with a children's dental clinic to run, together with my other duties.
In the beginning I obviously felt out of place, communicating with the kids and their parents was hard, but I had to adapt so that we could survive.
I inherited not only a clinic, but also quite a few problems, some of them typical for female teams, and others - generated by insufficient adoption of the values of Dental Clinic Petar Duchev. I had to impose all systems and operational business cycles. In addition, I had to find our point of differentiation. The good times of temporary market monopoly were over. Much faster than we all expected.
The solution was obvious. Back to our roots, back to what Dental Clinic Petar Duchev had always been and had epitomized.
In these notes I will tell my stories from the children's clinic as I saw them. Perhaps they will be more business oriented. They might also be too demanding from my coworkers. But they will always carry the idea of achieving the best result. Because of the patients who can’t even tell what hurts them.
I hope these stories will be interesting. Or at least some of them.
