Based on my subjective assessment of the world of esthetic dentistry, I can say that the level of income affects the love of oneself.
For some time, I have been noticing that wealthier people love themselves and their bodies more.
I am a dentist since 2002, and since 2009 I focused and confined my practice to esthetic implantology and solving difficult, complex cases. During all these years, while meeting thousands of people and observing how people with different levels of income change and live, I have noticed certain patterns. The more one earns, the more attention he or she pays to their health and body in general.
Every year, an increasing number of wealthy people need my services. More and more of them are taking up sports, consulting dietologists, trying to have healthy lifestyles… I am not talking about horseback riding and golf or truffles and caviar. It is about giving-up sugar, giving-up white flour and oily food, walking more and jogging regularly, quitting smoking and alcohol. Also, there is a clear difference between those, who are truly wealthy, and those who want to look rich in the restaurant or on Instagram.
Of course, there is another side to that, where the culture of movement and nutrition, not only fails to improve, but gets a lot worse with the increased financial inflow. However, I think money does not make a person good or bad. It only tends to highlight and intensify the qualities such a person already had, before becoming wealthy.
In 2021 we opened the new Pediatric Dental Clinic “Petar Duchev Kids”. On its first floor, next to the central reception desk, we organized a bar with beverages. I thought that gathered around it, we would celebrate successful treatments together with the parents of the patients, holding glasses of “Moët & Chandon” in our hands. But ultimately the bar enjoys great popularity as a Coffee Corner – coffee, tea, water. No carbonated drinks and confectionary.
It is, of course, a bit strange that valuing health and love of one’s body tend to occur with the accumulation of money. You don’t need monthly subscriptions for jogging in the park, do you? And limiting certain types of food would also result in more money in the wallet.
Love and value your body and health!
